Biography
Dr. Yue Ni is an assistant professor of Applied Developmental Psychology at Portland State University. She received her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Oregon State University in 2023. She also holds a Master of Arts in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from East China University of Science and Technology. During and after her Master's studies, she worked with youth programs for Asian immigrant youth in Quincy, MA. 

Research
Dr. Ni's primary research interest is Positive Youth Development in diverse contexts, with an emphasis on promoting thriving among youth from traditionally marginalized communities. Her current research work focuses on contribution to civil society in the online and offline contexts and how it is related to psychological well-being among youth from diverse backgrounds. Another focus of her research is on the thriving of Asian American and immigrant youth. She is particularly interested in how Asian-origin youth's intersectional identities and experiences can influence their positive developmental outcomes. To optimize her empirical research, Dr. Ni applies a combination of advanced quantitative and qualitative methods. She is especially versed in longitudinal data analyses, latent variable modeling, and measurement.
