Smith Memorial Student Union is your couch on the Portland State University campus. Smith provides a place for the campus community to come together. It houses a diverse selection of programs, services, ideas, and engagement that enrich our social, cultural, and educational environment.

The Smith Memorial Student Union Advisory Board is seeking two student members for the upcoming academic year. This is a great opportunity for students looking to get involved on campus and learn more about how budgets, operations, policies and procedures work at PSU. SMITH OPEN SPRING TERM
Smith Memorial Student Union open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday to the PSU community.
RESERVE A PRIVATE STUDY SPACE: Students interested in a private space can reserve a study room in Smith for free. There are limited rooms and times available. Request a time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the Info Hub in the Broadway lobby to see is a room is available.
PSU PRINTER: You can print your documents from the PSU network at the printer in the University Market (8 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F). Queue your document online, scan your ID and print. Students and staff get 500 page credits a term. Learn more.
PSU ID electronic access available at all entrances.
Access is by PSU ID card only. Appropriate face masks are required. All other University health guidelines are followed in Smith. Sorry -- we will be closed to the general public during fall and winter term.

BUILDING HOURS (spring term)
Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
University Market: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F
Info Hub: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F
SMITH OPEN 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. MONDAY-FRIDAY: Smith Memorial Student Union is open for the PSU community only at SW Broadway and Harrison in Portland. Students, faculty and employees are welcome to drop by for study space, University Market, Info Hub and other amenities. (We have a PSU printer and restrooms.)
ENTRANCES: All access is through electronic control access doors. Swipe your PSU ID to enter. ADA access is available at the Broadway entrance, the entrance on the north side between Cramer and Smith, and through the third-floor skybridges that connect to Fariborz Maseeh Hall, Karl Miller Center, Parking Structure 1 and Parking Structure 2.
EVENT REDUCTIONS: Small groups from the PSU community (no outside groups or events at this time) that meet current public health and event guidelines -- face masks, use of larger rooms, fewer available time slots, etc. -- can contact the Campus Events & Student Union staff to schedule a meeting space. Events must abide by PSU’s current meeting rules.

GAMEROOM BOWLING: The Viking Gameroom is closed. Once the county and University permit recreation spaces to be open, the Gameroom will be taking reservations for PSU small groups. More information to come.
PSU FOOD PANTRY ON SW HALL: The PSU Food Pantry is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and housed this term at the 5th Avenue Cinema, 510 SW Hall St. More information is on the appointment page and the food pantry's Instagram account.
CENTERS HOUSED IN SMITH WORKING REMOTELY: Most resource and cultural centers located in Smith are operating remotely. Centers that provide counseling, legal or support resources are still offering those services via website, call, text or appointment. We recommend you check the centers' websites or social media before dropping in. HELP IS AVAILABLE.
DELIVERIES: Notify your delivery service that items addressed to Smith occupants should be taken to PSU Mail Services, University Services Building, 630 SW Mill, unless you plan to be in Smith during the delivery window.
EVENT SCHEDULING AND CLASSIFICATION CHANGES: A PSU department or group can partner with a non-PSU organization to help bring an event to campus. Contact the Campus Events & Student Union staff for more information on this new classification. Review the classifications and 2020-21 meeting space rental rates online.
LOCKER RENTALS: Locker renewal and new locker rentals will be possible soon. Until then, your current locker will not be emptied. Review information on locker rentals.
