PSU History

I have worked in PSU's School of Social Work since 2016, teaching in the Master of Social Work program.

Experience

After receiving my MSW I worked within the early intervention system in Philadelphia, PA, providing training and technical assistance to early intervention providers related to low-tech assistive technology, participation-based services, and early childhood mental health. While earning my PhD I served as an evaluator for a program to increase collaboration between child welfare and behavioral health.

Academic/Research Interests

My research interests focus on two broad areas. First, the connections between early childhood systems, with an ultimate goal of strengthening the connections that exist between early childhood serving systems, as well as developing connections that are not yet present. Second, support for families with young children, as well as support for the professionals working with these families. Currently, I am working in collaboration with Oregon’s WIC program, examining service use and demographic patterns for WIC eligible families, as well as self-care related supports for participants during the later postpartum period.

Personal Interests

You can often find me exploring the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest with my family. I'm originally from the DC area and am still in awe of the snow capped mountains in the west. When we're not exploring I love a good jigsaw puzzle, long neighborhood walks, and homemade meals with friends. I'm also a huge fan of Olympic weightlifting.
