BIOGRAPHY:
Brianna is the academic adviser for the University Honors College, advising all Honors students, in all majors, from the time they are prospective students until they graduate (and even beyond!) She has been the Honors adviser at PSU since August 2014 and loves helping students define and achieve their goals.
From 2005-2012, Brianna was an Advising Dean at Columbia University in New York, working with undergraduate students in Columbia College and the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Brianna attended Amherst College for her undergraduate degree, where she majored in political science, played varsity volleyball and club Ultimate Frisbee, and served as a resident adviser and admissions tour guide. She earned an MA and MPhil at Columbia University, also in political science, with a focus on international security, ethnic conflict, and East Asia. Her unfinished dissertation concerned homeland nationalism in East Asia.
Brianna grew up in Edmonton, Canada. She has also studied and worked abroad in Stockholm, Sweden; rural northeastern China; and Taipei, Taiwan. She lives in Portland with her husband, two children, and Jasper the dog; she loves trail running, hiking, camping, and rock climbing; cooking, baking, and eating in Portland’s amazing restaurants; watching contemporary dance, travel (when possible!), and reading.
