Dr. Ameeta Agrawal is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University. Dr. Agrawal's primary areas of research include natural language processing, machine learning, and computational social science.
Her current work focuses on unsupervised learning, fairness in computational models, affect analysis (e.g., sentiment, emotion and sarcasm) and knowledge graphs. She is also interested in exploring real-world applications of her research, and some of her recent projects include analyzing early indicators of population displacement and covid-19 patterns from social media data. Dr. Agrawal is the director of the NLP lab at Portland State University, and she received her MSc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from York University in Canada.
