"The Alphabet of Black Creatives," created by Nia Musiba, aims to highlight the existence of various Black creatives around the Pacific Northwest through interviews, events and workshops. By creating space to explore the experiences of these creatives – their triumphs, failures, and everything in-between – as opposed to just their creative output, the ABCs aims to humanize the Black creative, who for so long has been overlooked, underrepresented, overworked, and under appreciated. As it continues to grow, the project will also serve as a resource for emerging Black creatives to understand the infinite possibilities that may exist for them in the creative world. Musiba received the Andries Deinum Prize for Visionaries and Provocateurs, awarded by the College of the Arts, in 2022.

The exhibition will be on display from September 26, 2023, through March 2, 2024, in the Broadway Gallery in Lincoln Hall, with an Artist Talk on September 27 at 5:00 P.M. in Lincoln Hall Studio Theater (Room 115).

The Broadway Gallery is open to those with an active PSU ID card.
