The Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) in The School of Business provides you with the skills and knowledge to start or advance your career in the commercial real estate industry. The curriculum is designed to develop forward-thinking real estate professionals with strong analytical and effective leadership skills.
Designed for professionals working in all areas of commercial real estate, the degree provides comprehensive real estate knowledge and skills in addition to access to the region’s top real estate industry experts and leading real estate research university. Whether you are already working in commercial real estate or breaking into the industry, our MSRE puts your career on the fast track.
MSRE students can specialize with their electives and signal their specialization to employers with graduate certificates at no extra cost. These specializations include:
- Real Estate Investment & Finance (MSRE + Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Investment & Finance)
- Real Estate Development (MSRE + Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Development)
- Affordable Housing (MSRE + Graduate Certificate in Affordable Housing Development)
Time to completion - Full Time 11 months; Part Time 15 months.
MS in Real Estate Scholarships | There are approximately 70 scholarships available to MSRE students
Use PSU Scholarship Universe to submit a scholarship application. Incoming and continuing PSU students are eligible to apply for scholarships through PSU's Scholarship Universe. Students must file an admissions application with the university. Within 48 hours after a student has submitted an application, they can access the Scholarship Universe platform.
Deadline for scholarship submission is May 1.

Our program provides you with a comprehensive study of, amongst others, real estate finance & investment, development, law, economics & market analysis, and property & asset management. It allows you to improve your financial, business, critical thinking, communication, leadership, and data analytics skills.
- Get familiar with industry software applications and databases. Our program allows you to improve your financial modeling skills in Excel and Argus, data visualization skills in Tableau, and market research skills with ArcGIS Esri Business Analyst, Costar, and Bloomberg.
- Learn about emerging trends. Our curriculum emphasizes cutting-edge topics such as emerging technologies & innovation (e.g., PropTech, FinTech, AI), data analytics, impact investing, climate risk, and ESG to prepare you for the commercial real estate industry of tomorrow.
