The Finance Industry
Our financial system is in need of passionate and knowledgeable leaders to solve global economic problems and help businesses plan for a better future. The financial industry is undergoing a vast transformation as the global economy regains strength and businesses expand into new markets. Financial experts with a deep understanding of emerging macro-economic trends and experience with new technologies and regulatory standards are in high demand. Beyond mathematical formulas, tomorrow’s financial leaders must understand how marketplace conditions drive business strategy. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), 70 percent of global bank executives believe that understanding macro-economic trends is critical to developing banking strategy.
Glassdoor ranks finance managers no. 16 in its "Best Jobs in America for 2016" listing.
The Finance Program
If you have a passion for detailed analysis and mathematics, formulating and framing benchmarks, creative problem solving, increasing efficiencies, or monitoring trends and interpreting outcomes, the finance option is the right business focus for you! Finance students can expect a challenging, rigorous, and rewarding experience that will prepare them for the high-end financial industry, such as corporate finance, banking, or in an investment-related field. Finance is about connecting the economic story with a sound strategy and successful financial analysts assess value based on greater economic market conditions to guide business decisions. Our students are challenged to think about all financial pain-points that generate the need for a stronger financial structure. This holistic approach helps you to gain the confidence and critical thinking skills to make tangible impact in a business.
