Professional Scope

As the New Student Services Coordinator for the Office of International Student and Scholar Services in OGEI, I work with new F-1 and J-1 international students to support their adjustment to PSU, while also assisting the current students who serve as their mentors.  As one of the Confidential Advocates, I support international students who have experienced dating or intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, or other forms of sexual violence.

At PSU, I held various student roles, including student assistant for International Special Programs and OISSS, co-coordinator for the Organization of International Students, and graduate assistant for OISSS.  Following graduation, I spent three years at Portland Community College supporting international students before returning to PSU.

How I Can Help

  • New Student Services:  Support new international students after admission and during their transition to PSU through pre-arrival communication, international student orientation, and mid-term check-ins.
  • International Student Mentor Program:  Recruit, train and support international student mentors to foster intercultural leadership and communication.
  • Student Life Advising:  Offer guidance on student life matters, from cultural adjustment and scholarships to connecting with resources.
  • Confidential Advocacy: Support international students who have experienced interpersonal violence, in collaboration with the Confidential Advocacy Services at the Center for Student Health and Counseling.
