Thalia Sophiana has worked at Portland State University since 2012. She initially served as Program Coordinator for a U.S. Department of Defense–funded Russian language grant program and currently works as Programs Coordinator for the Department of History and the School of Gender, Race & Nations. The school includes the Departments of Black Studies, Chicanx & Latinx Studies, Indigenous Nations Studies, and Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies.

With more than 30 years of administrative and executive business experience across private industry and governmental agencies, she brings a strong foundation for coordinating complex, interdisciplinary programs and supporting the broader missions of the departments and units she serves.
