Owen (he/him) is a post-doctoral resident at PSU SHAC. After growing up in Portland, Owen completed his BA at Whitman College, worked at Perkins School for the Blind in Boston for one year, then completed his Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology at Georgia Southern University. He completed his APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Idaho Counseling and Mental Health Center.
Owen’s clinical interests include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), learning disorders and AD/HD, relationship and interpersonal concerns, psychodynamic theory, anxiety, and much more. He believes therapy can be about growth and strength in addition to addressing difficulties and stuck-points.
When not at SHAC, you can find Owen hiking, watching Survivor with his cat, listening to a good album, or playing the piano. You may also find him playing bad golf, reading about cosmology, or dreaming about visiting Japan.
