Eleanor is the Director of the Oregon Biodiversity Information Center and the Institute for Natural Resources at Portland State University. She works to conserve Oregon's natural resources by collaborating with state, federal and private partners to gather and share information on the distribution and status of Oregon’s biodiversity. Her background is in conservation biology, with a focus on shorebirds. She serves on a long-running project to recover Western Snowy Plovers along the Oregon coast. She enjoys working with students and finding opportunities for them to get out in the field. When not working, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and laid-back birdwatching.
