Professional Scope
As the Faculty-Led Education Abroad Advisor for the PSU Education Abroad & Off-Campus Programs Office in the Office of Global Engagement and Innovation (OGEI), I support the development and delivery of short-term international programs at Portland State University. I work closely with faculty program leaders and students across the education abroad lifecycle, providing guidance on program development, student advising, recruitment, marketing, preparation, logistics, and program operations.
My advising approach is grounded in a strengths-based, human-centered perspective. I aim to understand the individual goals, strengths, experiences, and needs that students and faculty bring to the education abroad process and use that understanding to provide advising that is responsive to the person, rather than simply the process. For students, this means helping them recognize their own strengths and identify opportunities that align with their academic, personal, and professional goals. For faculty, it means understanding their academic vision and expertise and helping translate that vision into programs that are thoughtful, feasible, and meaningful for students.
My work bridges academic program development with the administrative, logistical, and student-support considerations required to deliver successful international experiences. I also support the systems and processes that facilitate program delivery, including TerraDotta, program documentation, public-facing materials, student communications, and event coordination.
Background
Before joining OGEI, I worked in early childhood education and administration, including as an Assistant Director at Portland State University. I also supported an international student leadership program through the U.S. Department of State's Middle Eastern Partnership Initiative, providing residential and program support for an international cohort.
I hold an MPA specializing in Global Leadership & Management from Portland State University, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit & Public Management. My academic background also includes a BA in General Social Science with a focus on Crime, Law & Society and a minor in Sociology from the University of Oregon.

- Faculty-Led Program Development — Support faculty in developing, refining, and implementing short-term international programs, from initial concept through program delivery.
- Student Education Abroad Advising — Help students identify programs aligned with their academic and personal goals, understand program expectations and requirements, and prepare for participation abroad.
- Program Operations & Systems — Support the administrative, logistical, and systems-based processes that facilitate successful program development and delivery.
- Faculty & Student Support — Serve as a resource for faculty and students, helping navigate questions, identify solutions, and connect them with appropriate institutional and international resources.
- Program Marketing & Recruitment — Support faculty in communicating program opportunities through program materials, information sessions, outreach, and recruitment strategies.
Global and Cultural Engagement
My international experience includes academic, professional, and field-based engagement in India, Canada, Mexico, France, Vietnam, Singapore, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Cuba. In addition to providing on-site support for PSU Faculty-Led Programs, I participated in an international field experience in Cuba focused on community, governance, healthcare, and women's health and reproductive rights. My professional experience also includes supporting an international student leadership program through the U.S. Department of State's Middle Eastern Partnership Initiative.
In 2026, I provided on-site Student Support Services for a PSU Faculty-Led Program in Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands. This work included supporting program operations, assessing the faculty and student experience in the field, and engaging with current international partners and providers to better understand on-site services, resources, and operational capacity. This field-based experience strengthens my ability to connect program planning and development with the realities of international program delivery.
These experiences inform my approach to education abroad by providing perspectives across student participation, faculty engagement, international partnerships, and program operations.
