And Ozbay is an Adjunct Instructor in the Engineering and Technology Management Department, where he teaches graduate-level courses in Operations Research and applied generative AI systems.
Dr. Ozbay is an AI and engineering leader with extensive experience building and scaling AI/ML systems for two-sided marketplaces. He currently serves as Director of Engineering for Personalization and Recommendation Systems at Quizlet, leading search, recommendations and AI-driven product initiatives. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at companies including eBay, Etsy, Groupon and Pinterest, leading experimentation platforms, ML science and data engineering teams and delivering significant business impact through optimization, personalization and applied machine learning.
His work sits at the intersection of AI, product strategy and business execution, spanning recommender systems, experimentation and causal inference, optimization, agentic AI architectures and applied generative AI. Alongside his industry leadership, Dr. Ozbay advises startups and enterprises on AI strategy, platform design and organizational readiness for AI-driven transformation.
Dr. Ozbay holds a PhD in Systems Science and an MS in Systems Engineering.
