Dr. Timothy Anderson is the Department Chair of the Engineering and Technology Management department. He earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota, as well as both  M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Since 1987, Dr. Anderson has been the Program Chair or Co-Chair 20 times for PICMET. He leads the Extreme Technology Analytics research group and has over 60 refereed publications in his research areas. He was President of Omega Rho, the International Honor Society for Operation Research. He co-led the creation of six graduate certificates at Portland State, including the most recent, Business Intelligence and Analytics.

Dr. Anderson is one of the few Engineering Department Chairs in the country to be a member of a Native American tribe, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, and he works to ensure that future engineers and scientists better represent the community. He served on the MESA-Oregon advisory board for over a decade and is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEM. He has been the PSU AISES-Chapter Advisor since 2005 and mentor for the BUILD-EXITO program. He has been recognized as a Sequoyah Fellow of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society.
