Sri Craven is Professor in the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She received her Ph.D. in English and Women's Studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is a literary/cultural studies critic in the postcolonial and transnational traditions. Her research focuses on explanations of identity formation and identity politics from the perspectives of globalization, im/migration, and diaspora. She teaches courses on literature, culture, and theory as ways of exploring identity's meaning.
