As a Student Organization Advisor, Sean Fisher (he/him) provides administrative support and leadership development to a wide range of student organization leaders at PSU. A proud community college graduate and former student leader, Sean is passionate about helping students cultivate their sense of belonging and purpose.

Sean began his time with Student Activities & Leadership Programs (SALP) as a social work intern in 2022. Before joining SALP, Sean worked as a PSU Graduate Student Ambassador supporting prospective graduate students through the application and admissions process. Sean also served as a social work intern at the HIV Day Center in NE Portland. There, Sean’s passion for group facilitation blossomed while he provided milieu/drop-in psychosocial support and resource navigation to people living with HIV.

Born and raised in the California Bay Area, Sean served in various community engagement roles before moving to Oregon in 2020 for graduate study. Sean navigates life as a multiracial, neurodivergent, queer man who is way taller in person than people assume via Zoom calls. When he’s not working on community programs or research, Sean enjoys practicing expressive art, keeping up with science fiction shows, exploring local “MAZEs” (museums, aquariums, zoos, and exhibitions), visiting the coast, and celebrating queer life with his loved ones.
