Ms. Saltzberg is the Director of the Center for Public Service in the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government, in the College of Urban and Public Affairs at Portland State University. As Director, she provides leadership and management of the Center, builds collaborations and partnerships to support the Center’s work, and continues to participate in program design and delivery as a trainer, facilitator, and coach. Sara is currently also serving as the Assistant Director for the Hatfield School of Government. Sara started at PSU in 2007, administering human resources, budget, and contracting for the Executive Leadership Institute, and then served as the CPS Assistant Director from July 2011 – July 2019. Prior to transitioning into higher education, Sara worked for the City of Portland, Bureau of Human Resources, for five years.
Sara holds an M.A. in Education: Policy, Foundations & Administration from PSU, and completed her B.A. in International Affairs and Hispanic Studies at Lewis & Clark College. Her areas of specialization include talent development; strengths-based leadership development for individuals and teams; emotional intelligence for individuals and teams; instructional design for adult learners; and organization development. Sara is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach.
