Dr. Terry is an Adjunct Assistant Professor teaching studies courses in the School of Film, an affiliated faculty member of the Center for Japanese Studies, and a media localization engineer. He offers courses on East Asian cinemas and industry, particularly the cinema of Japan.
His dissertation research, Success Through Failure: Daiei, Kadokawa, and the Transformation of Japan’s Domestic Film Industry, explores the intersection of art and industry from the 1960s-1990s. He is currently working on a monograph based on his dissertation along with articles pertaining to media changes during the bubble economy of the late 1980s.
