Melina is an attorney with Student Legal Services, where she advises and advocates for Portland State University students facing housing, employment, torts, consumer, and other legal issues. Before joining SLS, Melina worked as a civil litigation attorney in a wide variety of practice areas, including construction law, professional negligence, civil rights, trusts and estates, and commercial litigation.
She received her Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2016 and is licensed to practice law in Oregon and California. In addition to her practice, Melina works as a pre-law instructor and serves on the Oregon State Bar Board of Bar Examiners. Her leadership and community involvement include serving on the Oregon State Bar Advisory Committee on Diversity & Inclusion, as well as past service on the Oregon State Bar Professionalism Commission and in mentorship roles through various affinity bar groups and high school programming opportunities. Outside of work, Melina enjoys spending time with her husband and three dogs.
