Melanie Flood

Melanie Flood (b. New York) is an artist based in Portland, OR. She holds a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York and an MFA in Contemporary Art Practice from Portland State University. Since 2008, she has directed Melanie Flood Projects, which began as an artists’ salon located in her Brooklyn residence. Her projects and work have been featured in Art in America, The New York Times, ARTnews, New York Magazine, zingmagazine, Photo District News, among others. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Mirror Mirror, Fourteen30 Contemporary, Portland, OR (2018), Wet Pictures | Titty Bears, Ditch Projects, Springfield OR (2018) Passionfruit, Autzen Gallery, Portland, OR (2017), Latent Desire, Carl & Sloan Contemporary, Portland, OR (2016). Flood is the recipient of a Regional Arts & Culture Council Project Grant (2014), a Precipice Fund Award (2016), and an Oregon Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship (2020). She is represented by Fourteen30 Contemporary.
