Dr. Linda George is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Management at Portland State University. Her research and teaching focus on modeling and measuring urban air pollutants, with particular attention to how environmental justice, gender, and socioeconomic factors influence air quality and climate policy. Over the course of her career, Dr. George has mentored nearly 30 graduate students, along with numerous undergraduate students, high school students, and teachers through her interdisciplinary research program on urban air pollution. Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, USAID, local agencies, and various nonprofit organizations and foundations.
She has served as a Program Director in the Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences at the National Science Foundation and as an Associate Editor for the journal Science of the Total Environment.
