Professional Scope
As an Accounting Technician in the Office of Global Engagement & Innovation at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon I manage accounting workflows, provide operational support, and oversee financial record-keeping for our international programs, global initiatives, and student services. I provide support for financial and administrative accounting operations, and advise on processes and procedures to ensure compliance with university and national accounting standards.
Before joining Portland State University, I co-founded Le Monde Immersion, a public charter school based in Portland, and served on their board of directors. Prior to that, I worked in clinical laboratories. When the pandemic began, I also assisted OHSU in launching their COVID testing laboratory.
How I Can Help
- My role integrates accounting procedures and operational support within Portland State University's Office of Global Engagement and Innovation.
- Accounts Payable - procurement cards, invoices, wires, and JVs.
- Accounts Receivable - processing of payments from outside entities.
- EPAF and Wage Agreements to support hiring of faculty and student staff.
- Foundation - processing of Foundation inquiries and disbursement requests.
- Fund balances - tracking of fund and IPDA balances.
- Student Data - financial and academic review of student information.
- Supplies - ordering of necessary supplies, inventory tracking.
- Telecommunications - coordination of data resources and support.
