I do a variety of research and teaching within Earth Science on paleoclimate, stable isotope geochemistry, stratigraphy, and basin analysis. I have published on the uplift history of the Altiplano, Pamir, Tibetan Plateau, and the Cascades. In addition, I am interested in atmospheric circulation and meteoric water isotope evolution in central Asia and the Pacific Northwest. Recently, I have been working on a Department of Energy project investigating geothermal potential in the Portland Metro area. Lastly, I have a pilot project on cannabis terroir in southern Oregon. If you are a prospective graduate student interested in any of these areas of research, please get in touch.
