I serve as Executive Assistant to the Provost in Portland State University’s Office of Academic Affairs, where I support the Provost and work with colleagues across the university to advance PSU’s academic mission. I am especially drawn to higher education for its ability to create opportunity, support students, and strengthen communities.
Before joining Portland State, I spent much of my adult life living and working in Germany, with experience spanning international affairs, business, and public service. I was a Fulbright Scholar in Düsseldorf, Germany, and hold a Master of Arts in German and European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where my research focused on public policy, diplomacy and transatlantic relations. I also hold a B.A. in Political Science and German from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a B.S. in Business Administration from Hochschule Niederrhein in Mönchengladbach, Germany. My international background includes work with the German American Business Council in Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Department of Defense in Mainz, Germany, as well as several years working in the private sector in Berlin. I speak German fluently and am currently learning Japanese.
