Dr. Geoffrey Duh, an Associate Professor of Geography and Director of GIS Programs in the School of Earth, Environment, & Society at Portland State University, specializes in the development and application of geo-computational theory and techniques. His research primarily focuses on integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing for spatial decision-making.
Dr. Duh's specific projects involve applying software engineering, spatial modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques to support critical areas such as water supply forecasting, land-use planning, emergency planning, and resources management.
In addition to his research, Dr. Duh plays a key role in the academic programs at PSU. He oversees and advises students in the Geographic Information Science Master's and graduate GIS certificate programs, and he is responsible for coordinating the design and development of GIS curricula.
