Sudeshna Pal joined the Economics Department at Portland State University in Fall 2014 as Adjunct Faculty. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Money and Banking and Environmental Economics. She also developed and taught several online courses for the department.

Sudeshna completed her Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University.  Her research focused on effects of economic liberalization in developing countries. She is currently employed as an Economist at the Citizens’ Utility Board of Oregon, a non-profit organization of consumer advocates where she analyzes and comments on utility investments and ensures that investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities are charging residential customers a fair price for the services.

Sudeshna enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and six-year old daughter. She loves to explore new places and cuisines. Her favorite getaway is the Oregon coast.
