Sahan's work as an ISS Programmatic Fellow is focused on strengthening and growing ISS's links with the PSU community and local and regional organizations working on sustainability and resiliency. As part of this role, Sahan will coordinate a panel discussion series featuring practitioners and PSU faculty working on finding answers to the key challenges in sustainability and explore ways to engage more PSU undergraduate and graduate students in sustainability-related policy, oriented-research. Sahan is an environmental economist and an associate professor in the economics department with a research interest in non-market valuation and optimization focused on land and species conservation. Sahan hails from Kandy, Sri Lanka, and likes to read and cook (and eat) in his spare time.
