Riju Joshi joined the Economics Department of Portland State University in 2018. Her specialization is Applied Econometric Methodology for causal analysis with observational data. She is interested in designing intuitive and computationally simple estimation procedures under relaxed distributional and functional form assumptions allowing a researcher to account for issues such as endogeneity, missing data and spatial dependence. She teaches the sequence of econometric courses for the Master program and also for the Graduate Certificate in Econometrics and Data Analysis focusing on providing the students with a solid theoretical foundation of econometric methodology. She also prepares students to perform applied econometric analysis with an emphasis on causal analysis.
