Arnab Mitra is an associate professor of Economics at Portland State University and joined the Economics’ faculty in 2013. Prior to moving to Portland, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He graduated in 2010 from the University of Arizona with a Ph.D. in Economics.

Arnab's research interests are in behavioral/experimental economics, environmental economics and microeconomics. His current work focuses on markets for green electricity and credence goods. Arnab is also working on designing experiments to understand incidence of individual-level corruption, deception, and discrimination for strategic and non-strategic standpoints.

Arnab teaches a sequence of courses that include Mathematical Economics, Advanced Microeconomics, and Applications of Advanced Microeconomic Theory. He also teaches undergraduate level courses on microeconomic theory, and economics of environmental issues.
