Cheryl (she/her) is an Asian-American licensed psychologist and the Lead Coordinator of Training. Cheryl completed her bachelors at Skidmore College (NY), masters at Tufts University (MA), and her doctorate in clinical psychology at Pacific University (OR).  

Her areas of clinical focus include stress, trauma, attachment/relationships, coping strategies, ambiguous loss, and intercultural counseling. She has been on the SHAC staff since 2005 and loves working with the students here.

Cheryl loves to learn and has completed specialized training in intercultural communication, attachment, trauma, EMDR, interpersonal neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, integrative somatic trauma therapy, ambiguous loss, and supervision & training. She has also taught graduate-level classes in intercultural communication and working with adult BIPOC adoptees, and co-founded the Pacific NW Training Group for university counseling center training directors and coordinators.

On a personal note, Cheryl enjoys food, travel, kayaking, Tai Chi, Lego, embroidery, and cuddling with her cat.
