Bruce Garrett is an employment attorney and the founder of Northwest Employment Lawyer. His practice combines litigation with preventive counseling, and he represents employers and employees in state and federal court and before administrative agencies. He also advises employers on workplace compliance, personnel disputes, accommodations and leave, wage-and-hour issues, and employment and separation agreements.
Before becoming an attorney, Bruce spent nearly a decade with the Social Security Administration in roles involving customer service, policy analysis, adjudication, training, and program management. He earned his J.D. cum laude from Willamette University College of Law, where he received a Certificate in Law and Business, founded and served as president of the Labor and Employment Law Association, served on the Moot Court Board, and worked as a Note and Comment Editor for the Willamette Law Review. He also externed for the Honorable Adrienne Nelson of the Oregon Supreme Court and the Appellate Division of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.
Outside of work, Bruce enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, attending Seattle sporting events, and traveling.
