Andrea Baeza is a graduate student pursuing an MS in geography. Her current work is focused on labor dynamics within the California sheep industry, particularly as it contributes to wildfire mitigation, and the role of the H-2A visa in that crisis mitigation labor. Her work is primarily qualitative, having spent months on working ranches participating in labor while conducting interviews and observation. She is also the owner/operator of a small veggie farm business in the Portland area called Copihue Farm, in which she spends her summers growing food for community members. She is excited to join the Center for Public Service and to contribute to this important work informing HB2548.
