Almost 70% of students who started at PSU last fall came from PCC. That’s why we built this page specifically for PCC students who want a clear, realistic picture of what transferring to PSU looks like. We have deep experience helping PCC students navigate the process. Understanding which credits carry over, what options fit their situation, and what to expect if you decide to move forward.

Simply tell us how to get in touch, and we’ll start the conversation, connect you with the right people, and walk you through everything you need to do. One step at a time.

At Portland State University, I’ve met people that are out doing the work that I want to do, that are encouraging me to keep doing what I’m doing. Every step along my journey I’ve had people on my side.

Just want some answers fast?

1. When is the deadline to apply for financial aid?
March 1, 2026. Many financial aid programs are first come, first served, so the earlier you apply, the better.

2. Can I even afford it?
PSU is the most affordable research university in Oregon and the most affordable overall in Western Oregon. We have financial aid options to fit almost every student. So don’t let cost keep you from learning more. We even offer a tuition free degree for those who qualify. But you MUST get your financial aid application in before March 1st.

3.  Will I feel overwhelmed at PSU?
Perhaps PCC felt manageable and you’re wondering if things will change once you get to PSU. Fear not! 67% of students who started at PSU last fall were from PCC. That’s more than half (but less than ¾’s). Many of our teachers ALSO teach courses at PCC. So you’ll be in good company and see familiar faces when you get here.

4. How will my credits apply towards my degree?
Potentially have a different form linked from here that asks how many college credits they have and when they plan to enroll at PSU.
