Leadership transition in PSU's Research and Graduate Studies

Dear Campus Community,

I wanted to let you know that Dr. Mark McLellan, Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies, has accepted a position to direct research and innovation at the University of North Texas starting next month.

On behalf of the campus community, we wish all the best to Mark and thank him for his dedicated efforts to advance our research mission. With energy and wisdom, he was able to implement several initiatives that have resulted in a significant increase in external grant funding.

Mark will be returning to his home state. As he said in a note to his PSU colleagues: “This move presents a unique opportunity for Julie and me to move back home to Texas and live a short driving distance of most of our family … I have fully enjoyed my stay at PSU and look forward to tracking the growth and development of this institution.”

Supporting our research portfolio at PSU is one of my priorities as interim president, and we will build on the foundation that Mark helped provide.

I am pleased to announce that Professor Jason Podrabsky, Associate Vice President for Research, has agreed to serve as Interim Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies. Jason’s extensive research accomplishments and his dedicated leadership to support research at PSU are great assets to our efforts to advance research and scholarship.

Stephen Percy
Interim President
