35 PORTLAND STATE FACULTY MEMBERS RANKED AMONG THE HIGHEST CITED RESEARCHERS IN THE WORLD IN 2021

New data published on Elsevier's website highlights the impact of research publications authored by Portland State University faculty and students in 2021. the data listed 35 PSU researchers among the top 100,000 cited authors.

The data set, produced by Jeroen Bass (Elsevier B.V.), Kevin Boyack (SciTec Styrategies, Inc.), Richard Klavans (Scitech Strategies, Inc.), and John P.A. Ioannidis (Stanford University), was compiled using Scopus data, compiling a database of the 100,000 most-cited authors across all scientific fields considering six citation metrics: total citations, Hirsch h-index, coauthorship-adjusted Schreiber hm-index, number of citations to papers as a single author, numbers of citations to papers as single, first, or last author. The data divide research into 22 fields subdivided into 176 additional disciplines.
