The Textile Arts program at Portland State University welcomes A young Yu to discuss her work with costume and performance art.

A young Yu is a Korean-American artist based in New York. Through performance-based film, she reimagines precolonial Korean folk and spiritual practices to reflect contemporary diasporic perspectives. Yu joins Annin Barrett’s History of Dress course to discuss her recent work featured in the Garmenting: Costume as Contemporary Art at the Museum of Art & Design.
