Show & Tell Design Lecture Series welcomes Calvin Ross Carl

Calvin Ross Carl is a designer and artist in Portland, OR. He is currently the creative director at Parliament, an independent agency specialized in brand strategy and identity. He also leads brand and design initiatives at Son of Man, a Basque-style cidery in Cascade Locks, OR. He was the founder and director of Carl & Sloan Contemporary, a commercial art gallery where he curated exhibitions and represented emerging and mid-career artists. His paintings and sculptures have been exhibited nationwide, and in multiple regional surveys, such as the Portland Biennial (Portland, OR), Out of Sight (Seattle, WA), and a survey of Northwest abstract painters at the Marylhurst University (Portland, OR). With nearly 20 years in the design industry, he has worked at firms such as Invision, Sincerely Truman, and WE Communications, and clients have included Rivian, Rainier Beer, Pabst Brewing, Nike, Microsoft, Fremont Brewing, Target, Fox Factory, Race Face, Uber, Uinta Brewing, West Marine, and many more.


Show & Tell is PSU Graphic Design’s online lunchtime lecture series where working design professionals stop by to blow our minds with wisdom! Our lectures happen (nearly) every Thursday during the school year at noon Pacific and are hosted by DES 125 Show & Tell students!
