What can South Korea teach us about tradition and life in a global society?
Join us for a 12-day faculty-led program in Seoul, South Korea, exploring how cultural traditions, rapid modernization, and global influence shape everyday life. Discover how South Korea’s transformation from postwar recovery to a cultural and economic powerhouse reflects connections among collective identity, innovation, and global competitiveness.
Through museum visits, cultural experiences, and explorations of Seoul’s urban landscape, you’ll examine the intersection of history, technology, media, and society. Experiences include visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace in traditional Hanbok, the Samsung Innovation Museum, K-Pop media sites, and a professional KBO baseball game, alongside visits to traditional markets and the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
Open to students from all majors, this program is especially suited for students interested in global studies, business, media, sociology, anthropology, international relations, and the arts.
