JSMA at PSU is pleased to present an exhibition tour of Just Playin’ Around. Led by curators Nancy and Theo Downes-Le Guin, the tour will cover highlights of the exhibition. They will be joined by artist Matthew Earl Williams, who will share insights on his prints in the exhibition!
Matthew Earl Williams, born in 1988 in Salem, Oregon, is an artist, educator, and enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. He is also a longtime gamer. In the two series exhibited, Williams explores and reinterprets the worlds of video games that he himself plays. Williams embarked on these series as a way to merge his gaming and artistic interests, and, in his words, “to document my digital experience in the same way we photograph our experiences of the physical world.”
Please contact jsma@pdx.edu or (503) 725-6238 two weeks in advance of the program to request accommodations for a disability or ask questions about physical access.
