Documentary Screening: The Living Legacy of Colegio César Chávez

Wednesday October 8th 2025 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join PSU's Cultural Resource Centers and La Casa Latina Student Center for a special screening of OPB’s “The Living Legacy of Colegio César Chávez”, a powerful documentary that explores the enduring impact of the first accredited Chicano college in the United States.

Follow Anthony Veliz as he shares his family’s deep connection to Colegio César Chávez and how it inspired his fight for educational equity. Featuring voices from former Oregon Rep. Teresa Alonso León and co-founders Sonny Montes and José Romero, the film highlights the leaders who stood against Chicano erasure.

Stay after the screening for a reception and panel discussion with community leaders and educators as we reflect on the film’s themes and the ongoing fight for educational justice.
