The College of the Arts presents a conversation series on the intersection of creative practice and social justice.

At this brown-bag discussion, Chuck Dillard, professor in the School of Music & Theater, and ariella tai, professor in the School of Film, ariella tai (Film) share the ways they have pushed boundaries both in their art and in their work to illuminate and celebrate the stories of marginalized groups. ariella tai discusses the classes they’ve been offering School of Film students over the last few years, such as a master study of the film "Daughters of the Dust," and the philosophy behind their experimental films. Chuck Dillard discusses his innovative pedagogy exploring identity and performance in his Queer Opera.

This event is the second brown-bag conversation in a yearlong series, "The Arts at the Vanguard of Change," presented by the College of the Arts and Dean Leroy Bynum, Jr.

Brown-bag events in this series are free and open to students, faculty, staff and the community.
