The Sherry Alves Brazilian Quartet features Brazilian musicians Cassio Vianna and Wagner Trindade, collaborating with Oregon natives Sherry Alves and Jason Palmer. Their work blends bossa-nova, samba and baião in a jazzistic style. Together they have recorded and performed a variety of Brazilian, Jazz, and contemporary music for over a decade. This concert features compositions by Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Pixinguinha, Djavan, Milton Nascimento, Antonio Carlos Jobim, originals by Vianna, and more.

The Noon Concert Series is a weekly opportunity to experience the sounds of the PSU School of Music & Theater. Join us on Thursdays during fall, winter, and spring terms for a diverse program of concerts featuring students, faculty, and special guests.
