There's no better way to start the new academic year than with Viking Days! From September 25 to October 4, PSU hosts a wide range of events to help students and staff — new and returning — get off to a great start.
From signature events to smaller gatherings, you'll find many opportunities to get connected at PSU. Be sure to check out:
Viking Day of Service, Friday September 26
Get outside and make a difference on campus and in the greater community. After volunteering for a few hours at a service project of your choosing, you can enjoy snacks and conversation with your fellow volunteers.
Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) Block Party, Friday September 26
Build a self care kit, play games, listen to music and learn about health and wellness services accessible to PSU students at SHAC’s annual block party. You’ll also have a chance to meet the team at SHAC — and enjoy free pizza, cotton candy, popcorn and more.
Viking Days Drag Show, Friday September 26
Always a community favorite, PSU’s annual drag show celebrates a diverse lineup of Portland's talented kings, queens and things. Capacity is limited for this popular event so arrive early — and make sure to bring your PSU ID card to get in.
Victor's House Party, Saturday September 27
Victor’s House Party is a long-standing PSU tradition. Join us on the Park Blocks for the annual student welcome concert, and stay for an afternoon full of food, raffles, games and more.
Kickball Ice Cream Social, Sunday September 28th
Head to Stott Field for a community kickball game, then enjoy a sweet treat. (Prefer to be a sports spectator? The PSU volleyball and football teams have home games during Viking Days. Find game times and tickets here.)
Welcome Days on the Plaza, Monday September 29
When school kicks off, swing by the Urban Plaza to meet our New Student Orientation team. Grab free coffee and treats, get help locating your classes and connect with various campus resources, or chat with an academic adviser about last-minute questions.
Night at the Rec, Tuesday, September 30
Come PLAY at Campus Rec during an action-packed Night at the Rec! Free and open to all PSU students. Meet our 30+ Rec Clubs and check out everything Campus Rec offers including Intramural Sports, Outdoor Programs, Aquatics, Fitness and Inclusive Rec. Join us for music, fun activities, inflatable games, rock climbing and more. Plus, the first 200 students who pose in front of our photobooth backdrop will receive an exclusive Campus Rec t-shirt!- Viking Days Event
Party in the Park, Wednesday October 3
It’s time to find your PSU! Join us for this annual student engagement fair, where you’ll learn about our amazing student organizations, leadership opportunities, jobs, internships, volunteering and on-campus events.
