Em Nakamura joins the PSU DRC team coming originally from Illinois, with a BA in English from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a MS in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University. Throughout most of her life that she can remember, she has needed some kind of educational accommodations, and from this background not only has a wealth of personal experience in living and working with disabilities, but also a passion and vested interest in disability advocacy. She is especially interested in neurodivergent advocacy, and among other social justice interests she enjoys intersectional feminism, immigrant rights, and neuroqueer theory, but above all that she is passionate about serving students of any background/experience.
In her free time, Em enjoys writing, art, and gaming, as well as traveling and trying new foods/things/etc.
