Roberto Valentin (he/him) is the Assistant Director for Residential Education in UHRL at Portland State University and has worked in varying roles in the field of Student Affairs over the past 10 years. He has previously worked at DePaul University, the University of Connecticut, The Juilliard School, Saint Peter's University and the University of Chicago before joining the fabulous Residence Life team at PSU in 2019. Roberto loves working with students in a residential setting but has also worked in Multicultural Student Centers, Admissions, and Conduct departments previously. He holds a Master's degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education & History from DePaul University.
Two reasons Roberto enjoys working in UHRL at PSU include how the department centers the student experience in all that they do, as well as the department's commitment to cultural humility and supporting anti-racist education. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his husband and two dogs, traveling around the country, weight-lifting, and PC gaming.
