Jill Taylor grew up here in Portland, Oregon. She attended the University of Puget Sound where she majored in Psychology and studied abroad in Australia. After graduation, she went to Alaska with six friends to drive tour buses for one summer. One summer turned into four because she was able to travel in the off season to Europe and South America. She returned to school to get a Masters degree in College Student Services Administration at Oregon State University and continued to work there as a Study Abroad Advisor. After a few years, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska and worked at the University of Alaska Anchorage in the Honors College and in the Department of Student Life and Leadership. After seven winters and putting two kids in snowsuits, she returned to the mild climate of the PNW and never complains about the weather. She has been working at PSU’s Honors College since 2019. She helps prospective students learn about the Honors College, she assists students through the application process, and helps keep current students connected to PSU by planning events. When not at work, Jill drives circles around her neighborhood dropping her kids at various sports practices. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, and planning adventures both near and far.
