Calendar The PSU Vocal Collective will recreate the exciting atmosphere of a 1950s-era radio variety show on the Lincoln Hall performance stage on Wednesday, June 1st, at 7 p.m. on the dot. You can be a part of the live studio audience during this simulated national broadcast -- it's free and open to the public. Marvel at the musical talents of the PSU students and staff as they turn back the clock to the glory days of radio, right in front of your ears. Recall the popular music made famous by the Mills Brothers, the Modernaires, Mel Torme' and the MelTones, the McGuire Sisters, and Count Basie, plus classic commercial jingles, a touch of comedy, and a radio master of ceremonies to direct the show, just as it used to be. Bring your radio ears and your best applause to make this nostalgic event a radio "broadcast" to remember! The PSU Vocal Collective is a multi-voice choir and rhythm section that performs a variety of jazz and contemporary music under the direction of Sherry Alves, the Zina & Edna Professor of Jazz Voice. music + theater arts, culture & entertainment
