Friday May 6th 2022 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us at Be Honest as we welcome Adam Garcia to the Matthias Kemeny Endowed Design Lecture Series.

Adam R Garcia is a designer, creative director and artist working and playing in Los Angeles, California. He’s a creative lead at Apple Music where he and a small team help oversee content for the platform, he has his own studio aptly named Adam R Garcia Studio, and previously ran the studio The Pressure in Portland, Oregon. After working at record labels, with music festivals, and a stint at Nike Global Brand Studio, Adam had a wonderful time as adjunct faculty at PSU for a few years, teaching a senior thesis course to designers. He has a podcast called Dope Excerpts, draws incessantly, and is currently writing a tabletop roleplaying game about the membrane between realities. Wish him luck on that.

The Matthias Kemeny Endowed Design Lecture Series is coordinated and managed by the Portland State Graphic Design program. This series brings internationally celebrated design professionals annually to Portland to give a lecture for the benefit of the students and faculty in the Graphic Design program, as well as the broader design community. This series is free and open to the public and highlights a wide range of design practices in an attempt to facilitate a community-wide dialogue about design and related fields. The series has been made possible by the Matthias D. Kemeny Charitable Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation.

Be Honest is the Portland State University Graphic Design annual student portfolio showcase. It’s not just for graduating seniors, but for ALL levels of graphic design students that want to participate and share their work. It’s part portfolio show, part party, part online open house, part alumni reunion, part TV show, and ALL FUN. And we want you to join in with us!
