Join us in welcoming Principal Architect Ben Waechter as he shares lessons from the design, development, construction, and operation of Mississippi--which also serves as the firm's headquarters- as well as thoughts on designing a new generation of agile and sustainable projects with mass timber. The presentation will also offer insights into Waechter's design philosophy and creative process.
The Mississippi Workshop is a 9,550sf mixed-use, mass timber building located on a prominent commercial avenue in Portland, Oregon. The project was designed, developed, and built by Waechter as a proving ground for sustainable building systems and 'all-wood" construction technologies, and equally, as a forum for new creative conversations.
What is ArchiLecture?
On most Fridays at 1 p.m. during the academic term, PSU School of Architecture students and faculty gather to hear from professional designers and architects, academics, visiting artists, innovators, and students in the program. ArchiLecture is a perfect way to wrap up each week of intense creativity in the studio and get inspired for the productive weekend ahead.
Free and Open to the public. All are welcome.
